Vintage &.Artisan Dolls House Fair In Thame - 2 Months To Go & What Is It All About?

After all the months of planning, there are now only 2 months to go until our VINTAGE & ARTISAN DOLLS HOUSE FAIR takes place on Saturday 12th October, and I am delighted to announce that all the 20 stand holders are booked! We have some truly amazing miniaturist artisans coming, plus some fabulous antique and vintage dolls house traders too. Some of the artisans rank amongst the very best in the UK, and many of the stand holders rarely attend fairs other than the large national events, so this is a fantastic opportunity to meet them in a smaller informal setting.

Come and join us all at this unique and rather special event that is being held at Thame Barns Centre, which is set in the heart of the historic Oxfordshire market town of Thame.

Thame is rich in history and the museum plus a variety of independent shops, restaurants, cafes, pubs, etc. are literally just a few minutes walk away from this fair venue.  Plus of course it is Midsomer Murder country - they are often filming for the long running TV show around here, so fans of the show may recognise some of the buildings!

The full list of stand holders can be seen below with all their details, live links are in blue. (Dolls House Restoration's booking has literally just come in and am awaiting details, but Trevor is well known for his brilliant Tri-ang/G&J Lines replica floor, roof and wall papers plus components for antique/vintage dolls house restoration). Many of these artisans I have known for years, and some I have only known by reputation but I thank them all for supporting this event. It is going to be quite a gathering!

The Charity CRY & Why We Are Supporting It...

If you have been following KT Miniatures Journal, you will know that as organiser, I am going to donate 50% of any profit made from running this event to the brilliant charity CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) which has special resonance for my family.  Not only would I  like to raise lots of money for CRY, but I would also like to raise awareness for them too...as many people have never heard of the charity and are unaware of the wonderful work they do.

Celia & Kate

As you know, my daughter suffered a cardiac arrest very suddenly and randomly, one fateful November evening back in 2017. However,  thanks to the skill and help of a lot of people, she survived against all the odds and pulled through. It was when she came out of hospital she felt isolated, there seemed to be no support network for youngsters with cardiac problems. But then someone mentioned CRY to us.Through CRY my daughter met other young people who had been through similar experiences, some of whom also had a S-I.C.D. fitted. This helped her greatly and gradually she was able to get back into the routine of life and back to full time work. Since then we have learned what an amazing charity CRY is, and how they can help young people along with their families.

So What Is The Charity CRY All About?

It stands for...Cardiac Risk in the Young. The charity's vision as a whole is "to prevent young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening and research, and supporting affected families." To find out more about the charity, see their website: www.c-r-y.org.uk

Other Ways To Raise Money For CRY At This Event
There is going to be a Grand Charity Raffle and some wonderful high quality miniatures from various UK artisans have already been donated, all proceeds will be in aid of CRY. They provide pop up vintage tea rooms serving sandwiches, cakes, scones and plenty of tea!
