Brick & Model Show November 15th & 16th 2015

And now for something a little bit different........

I promised Skegga Thorn that I would give her forthcoming Brick & Model Show a plug on KT Miniatures Journal.  This is Skegga's third show and it is taking place in Naphill Village Hall, which is near High Wycombe in Bucks - UK. She tells me that it is for all ages and very much a "hands on" show where you can have a go at "building" yourself....so if you are down Buckinghamshire way over the weekend of the 15th & 16th of November, why not pop along and take a look.
Did anyone have Bayko as a child? My brothers had an enormous box and I spent many happy hours constructing wonderful creations using the Bayko rods and slide in bricks. We only had one tiny shaped roof though and not many windows, so we had to use our imagination somewhat-great fun!

Sorry I was not able to do much listing of vintage items this week, but real life has been getting in the way....which includes builders and plumbers, and leaking water! Fingers crossed, life will revert to some sort of sanity next week.

I've never heard of Bayko bricks before, just going to look them up.

Hi Diane
Oh...it is a wonderful vintage building set, consisting of metal rods that you poke into a base and slide various bricks down the rods to construct buildings. In modern times, the metal rods would be deemed lethal for children....and would not pass the 21st century health and safety regulations. But we had great fun with it...and to our knowledge, no-one got stabbed by a Bayko rod..ha ha...! If you click on the following link, you can find out more about Bayko: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayko

Ha ha Giac. I want some too. My parents gave all our Bayko away to a jumble sale in the end. Shame! Celia
