Oxfordshire based Malcolm Smith of Malcolm's Miniatures has been making Art Nouveau & 1920s/30s style doors and windows in 1/24th scale for quite some time now, and I told him to get in touch with me when he begins making the larger 1/12th scale, as I felt they could be useful to many readers of KT Miniatures Journal who not only have modern reproduction style dolls houses...but maybe for those of you who have vintage dolls houses from that era too. Well here we go....Malcolm has got in touch!
1/12th Scale Door |
1/12th Scale Window |
The door and window above are actually 1/12th scale and Malcolm will be launching these larger examples at this weekend's Miniatura Fair at the Birmingham NEC. He has also asked me to tell you that he offers a customisation service to make doors and windows to fit existing apertures based on either his own standard designs or on customer's own designs. So, perhaps if you are restoring a vintage dolls house and in need of a door or window of this style (maybe even a 1/16th scale where doors and windows like this are normally impossible to get hold of), Malcolm may be able to help you....what a fantastic idea!
