A Touch Of Website Housekeeping Plus Dol-Toi Galore!

Over the past couple of days or so, I've been undertaking a little bit of tidying up on my website, which hopefully now will make the antique and vintage section a little easier to use.

I've done away with the long list of text links to various named vintage manufacturers on the Antique & Vintage Index Page and replaced with named image thumbnail links instead. You will find these directly underneath the old dolls house image that has separate click on thumbnail links for each room. This new additional section should be more pleasing on the eye and hopefully less confusing! Within this section, I have also incorporated the Old Dolls House Dolls link too (originally this was along the top navigation bar)....in order to contain most of the old items all in one section.

Similarly, I have had a bash at tidying up my Home Page too....it is now less busy and hopefully more straightforward.

DOL-TOI GALORE!
Also, over the past few days, I have been delving back into the several remaining boxes of old Dol-Toi belonging to Marion Osborne and begun listing many of these items in earnest, there is still quite a bit left!Over the past couple of years or so, I have had the enviable task of selling Marion's Dol-Toi Collection on her behalf, which she amassed purely for research purposes for her Book Of Dol-Toi.

I've just completed listing lots more Dol-Toi for the living room section, and at the moment am having a bash at the kitchen items. Unsellable damaged Dol-Toi items, with Marion's permission, are being bagged up and put aside for the Breast Cancer Now Sales Table at Thame Dolls House & Miniatures Fair in February 2016) as they could be useful to someone. The listing of such a large volume of Dol-Toi items up to the website all in one go is extremely time consuming, and just for the moment I will have to be put this latest  Dol-Toi listing session on ice whilst I concentrate on some other KT Miniaturs duties. But I hope to get back to the listing of Dol-Toi kitchen, dining room, bedroom and bathroom items in a few days time.

An Abundance Of Dol-Toi......

Over the past two weeks I have been listing multiple groups of Dol-Toi, all from Marion Osborne's Collection.
Marion collected these items over many years to help in her research on Dol-Toi, culminating in her writing a unique book - The Book Of Dol-Toi - Dolls House Furniture & Accessories (available exclusively from KT Miniatures).  Consequently once the book was written, there were boxes and boxes of literally all kinds of Dol-Toi furniture and accessories left surplus to Marion's requirements....so I have had the enviable task of selling all the items on her behalf.

Well.... it is over a year now since I started selling Marion's Dol-Toi and although the majority of more rare items have long been sold, I still have boxes and boxes of wonderful Dol-Toi furniture and accessories available to purchase. Over the next few weeks I shall continue to list multiples of these items at very reasonable prices (would make ideal Christmas presents for the collector of 1/16th scale dolls house furniture)!  If you click on the following link, it will take you through to the current Dol-Toi page.

Haddenham Dolls House Exhibition
All listing of new stock to KT Miniatures' website will now cease for an entire week, just in the run up to the lovely Haddenham Dolls House Exhibition which is taking place next Saturday (23rd November). KT Miniatures will be having a 6ft stand plus we also hope to have an exhibition of all of our Nostalgia In Miniature Workshops' projects, since our workshop initiative began.

Complete indulgence...a lovely way to spend a Sunday!

Now that my youngest has flown the nest (last of three), our Sundays are our own again.........something that we have not had since the eldest was born over 30 years ago and already we are rather liking this!!

Today....on a whim, Mr KT Miniatures and I set off in the car for simply a drive into "the country" (we cannot remember when we ever did this - it was so long ago) and ended up at an antiques fair in a tiny village memorial hall in the middle of rural Buckinghamshire. It stated that admission was only 50p.... so we thought we'd give it a go! What a fabulous time we had. Even though there were only about 20 stalls, I was distinctively drawn to one magnificent stand.  I loved everything on it......aaah if only I was rich, I would have bought it all. Nope,  it wasn't anything to do with miniatures......but had everything to do with the 1920s/30s!!!
So I did succumb to these little wonderful treasures, all for under £22.00...absolute bargain!
The beautiful glass tray with inset antique embroidered lace mat is stunning and already has found a place of home on top of the pine "school cupboard" in a spare bedroom.  I am also planning to use this tray for staging on my KT Miniatures stand at a future fair, and I can envisage it being rather useful! The weeny little garden picture is from an old 1920s calendar and will be framed. The tiny little jug is so very 1930s in style and will sit up in my work room, along with several other of my vintage jugs...I use some for storing my brushes, small tools, etc.The little watercolour in the black frame (seen in the top photo) is destined for our newly decorated landing wall! I know the 1920s/1930s era is not everyone's cup of tea, but the stand holder who sold me all these little treasures, shares an obvious passion for that era as much as me and we could have chatted for hours!

MULTIPLE LISTING OF VINTAGE DOL-TOI FROM MARION OSBORNE'S COLLECTION

During the next few days, I plan to start selling much of Marion Osborne's vintage Dol-Toi collection, that I still have,  in multiple listings. I am beginning with the kitchen so already there are various cookers, fridges, kitchen dressers, Welsh dressers, sinks etc. now for sale. Listing is so time consuming and very slow, so please bear with me.
